At a lovely golf course in Augusta, Georgia, on the patio of what will probably be the next home of my boyfriend, Michael. Earlier today, we reveled in the view of a beautiful lake through the floor-to-ceiling windows of a designer’s home, and an hour ago dragged ourselves away from a breathtaking view of the Savannah River rapids.
Coming from Miami, I never could have imagined that househunting in Augusta, GA could be this exciting, and that so many unusual opportunities exist. And we wouldn’t have seen many of them if we hadn’t been willing to look at homes that didn’t quite fit our parameters, as far as size, price or location.
If you are looking for some new possibilities, an answer to a problem, or trying to set a new direction, you can try this, too.
List the parameters that you’ve placed on your current situation. These could be timing, who gets to or needs to be involved, the money it takes, how other people might feel about it, etc. Take one parameter at a time and ask yourself, “if this was NOT a limitation, what possibilities would open up?”
You will begin to see some new options that just might work. And it’s fun!
Wishing you every possibility!
